On the occasion of the creation of the project One million commitments for climate that has been carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, ECODES, Fundación Biodiversidad and OECC; and to which Ferrovial has joined, in today’s post we want to give you some advice so that with small actions we fight (locally) against climate change.

Cook with the pots covered, you will save up to 25% more energy.
Turn off the lights you do not need, with this you will not only reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) but you will save up to € 150 a year. And if you use LED lighting, compared to incandescent bulbs, you will save up to 90% of the electrical energy.
It cleans the lamps and screens, in this way it will increase the luminosity without needing having more lamps on.
Dúchate instead of bathing, you will consume up to five times less water and you will notice your pocket.
Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, thus reducing approximately 550,000 liters of water throughout your life.
Use the dishwasher’s quick program, make a full charge and spend 9 times less water than if you scrub by hand.
Drive efficiently, and achieve a saving of half fuel and CO2 emissions of 15%. For example, starting the engine without stepping on the accelerator.
Commitments of product consumption
Consume local products and seasonal, being of quality, saving transportation and supporting local commerce.
Consume products with zero carbon footprint, in this way it will be evident that the manufacturing, production, transport and management process are working on the reduction of CO2 emissions associated with them.
If you are thinking of buying or renting a house, check that it has a high energy rating, it means that it could emit up to 75% less CO2 emissions.
Commitments of waste and recycling
Separate and recycle packaging, you will help reduce the energy of the extraction, transport and production of new raw material.
Separate and recycle paper and cardboard, with everything collected, 71% of the paper we use is recycled.
Avoid the use of plastic bags, keep a reusable one at hand.
