In 2008, a fellowship program was established to support the research, policy, and educational outreach efforts of the National Latino Coalition on Climate Change (NLCCC). The NLCCC leadership selected Andrea Delgado as the first NLCCC Fellow. Since 2008 she has been an integral member of the coalition staff.

As the NLCCC’s fellow, Ms. Delgado has contributed to the organizational and leadership development of the coalition. She is responsible for research, partnership development, convening expert panels on global warming and climate change and the production of bilingual materials to educate Latinos throughout the country about the implications of this global challenge for their social and economic advancement.

When she joined the NLCCC she served as Policy Analyst for the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) following the completion of LCLAA's Miguel Contreras Labor Policy and Advocacy Fellowship; a 9-month long fellowship she was awarded in 2007. At LCLAA she contributed to the production of “Reviving the Latino Workforce: Complex Problems Demand Comprehensive Solutions,” a report analyzing the impact the economic recession has had on the Latino community, the role the burgeoning Latino population can play in revitalizing the U.S. economy and the policies needed to best support them. Andrea is responsible for conducting research and generating bilingual communications and advocacy campaigns to inform LCLAA’s leadership and the general membership about several policy issues affecting the Latino workforce and the labor movement.

In her capacity as the NLCCC’s Fellow and LCLAA’s Senior Policy Analyst, Andrea works with leaders of national Latino, immigrant, civil rights, labor and environmental organizations to promote the social, political and economic advancement of Latinos through community outreach, education, civic engagement and advocacy efforts at the local, state and national level.

Andrea Delgado holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a concentration in Global Political Economy and a Minor in French from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Geneseo. She is bilingual and bicultural with fluency in written and spoken English, Spanish and intermediate proficiency in French.
